D</b></p> <p><b>Research Filed:</b> Exploration of the mechanisms of information processing in bio-sensory systems and modeling their computer-aided technical analogs.</p> <p><b>Education:</b> <ul><li>1966-1971: Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Cybernetics</li> <li>1972-1974: Post-graduate in the Institute of Cybernetics, Tbilisi</li></ul></p> <p><b>Employment History and Professional Experience:</b> <ul><li>1974-1985: Researcher in the Institute of Cybernetics.</li> <li>1985-present time: Senior Researcher in the Department of Bio-cybernetics of the Institute of Cybernetics.</li> <li>1985: Dissertation on the theme:  Feature description of signals and principles of its organization in the auditory system of bottlenose dolphin -St-Petersburg (Leningrad) State University.</li> <li>2007-present time: a member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Cybernetics.</li></ul></p> <p align=justify><b>Researches and Results Established:</b><br><br> The main objective of our studies of the bottlenose dolphin s bio-sonar system, conducted in Sevastopol Navel Base, was accumulation of data necessary to creation of bio-mimetic devices with matching performance. For that purpose, a set of 16 logically interrelated tests was developed and conducted on the Black Sea bottlenose dolphins. As a result, the echo-processing procedures of bottlenose dolphins were described in details, on the bases of which the computer-aided model of echo-processing was developed. Testing of the model, conducted partly with our American colleagues has revealed performance of the model comparable with that of dolphins (Link 1, Link 2). <br> In addition, novel approach was applied to experimental exploration of the mechanisms of visual information processing in humans.
